   Jesus Christ died to redeem.

The Nations Have a King

Do You Do Well To Be Angry?

2. God's Question: Do you do well to be angry?

Big Idea: God can redeem any life, because he is the source of every life.

Application Points:

We need to believe that:

1. God values all of the human life he’s made
2. We deserve death, just like everyone else
3. God has mercy for sinners … who repent

Why God Sent Jonah to Nineveh

Big Question: What does God want to show Jonah in Nineveh?

Sermon Points: 

1. Jonah: Barely takes God's word to Nineveh
2. Nineveh: Totally receives God's word & repents
3. God: Lavishes grace on Jonah's enemies

Big Idea: God has far more grace for this world than we do.

Application Points:

1. God's word is shockingly powerful
2. God's grace knows no boundaries 
3. We tend to lack both power & grace

 

Jonah is Saved by "His" God

Big Idea: If we really know God, we will extend His grace to those who don't.

Sermon Points:

1. God sends a fish to swallow Jonah: "No, no. Not so fast!"
2. Jonah cries out to God: "I knew you'd save me, LORD!"
3. God has the fish puke Jonah up: "Cute prayer, buddy. Now go!"

Application Points:

1. God doesn't want our religious pride.
2. God doesn't want our self-centered spirituality.
3. God wants us to humbly share the grace we've received.
